The Battle for Privacy

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, June 10, 2016 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

The bathroom issue is far from over, but, thankfully, Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods assured local superintendents he “has their backs.” Referring to a joint letter to schools nation-wide from the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Justice, Superintendent Woods said this:

“We at the Georgia Department of Education believe the [letter] openly violates, misinterprets and moves to rewrite established U.S. law … [Therefore] you are not required to comply … or make changes to your established actions and policies.”

Then, he said, “However, if the federal government DOES decide to withhold federal funds, ENFORCE this directive, or bring suit against ANY district in Georgia … we will work with all parties to take appropriate action. …I do not believe a student of another gender should use a restroom or locker room alongside students of the opposite sex.” Continue reading

Leaders Matter, and So Does Prayer!

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, June 3, 2016 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

In his first inaugural address, the U.S. president said he would transform this country. When that statement was made, most of us didn’t know what he meant, but we know now.

He hired dozens of czars and strategically stationed each one throughout the federal government to oversee the planned transformation, and they work 24/7 to get it done.

Since much of the change is funneled through public schools and woven into the curriculum, soon the entire culture will be transformed from Biblical standards to a nation of situation ethics where “anything goes,” and truth is ignored.

The administration and the educational system are working in tandem to change culture through federal mandates and NEA policies that substitute wrong for right and force compliance. Unfortunately, their success is transforming this country and the world! Continue reading

Trans- Accommodations

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, May 27, 2016 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

Never would I have believed there would be riots in the State of North Carolina because boys can’t use the girls’ restroom, nor would I have thought a 52-year-old husband and father of seven children would decide he’s a six-year-old trans-female wearing little girls’ clothing. Likewise, I would not have believed he would have been “adopted” by a “mummy and daddy” who have children and grandchildren of their own. But that’s what he said in a television interview.

The Psychiatric Association Guidelines for Psychotherapy with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Clients states, “Gender refers to attitudes, feelings, and behaviors,” which is certainly evident in current events. Facebook lists 58 gender identities to choose from and is willing to add more.

Because North Carolina says schools should use birth-certificate identity to determine which restrooms students use, the City of Atlanta and some states won’t allow government employees to go to North Carolina on business any more.

With a two-to-one vote, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned centuries of privacy law by defining “sex” to mean “gender.” The court based that decision on a 2015 letter from the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights to a trans-male (female to male) student at Gloucester High School. Two New Laws Signed by Governor Deal

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, May 20, 2016 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

On April 26th S.B. 331 became Act 361, when Governor Deal signed it into law. As you know, the governor had 40 days from the end of the session to sign or veto bills that passed this year. But failure to sign a bill does not mean it won’t become law. All bills that pass become law with or without the governor’s signature … except the ones he vetoes.

S.B. 331 went back and forth between the House and Senate for six weeks before it finally passed March 24th, and went to the governor’s desk seven days later. Effective April 26th, four Georgia laws now authorize termination of parental rights of the father of a child conceived by non-consensual sexual contact or when the mother was less than ten years of age.

That amendment changed the Juvenile Code, the domestic relations Code, certain adoption laws, and the superior court petitioning process for termination of parental rights.

The amendment could affect the child’s name, legitimation and inheritance, but it would not affect the child’s right to inherit from the father whose parental rights were terminated. However, that father could not inherit from or through that child. Continue reading
