H.R. 3962 In a Nutshell

It institutes $729.5 billion in job-killing tax increases on all Americans, fines those who can’t afford to purchase government-forced insurance and cripples businesses by taxing health benefits. Congressional Budget Office estimates 10-year cost to be $1.1 trillion.

  • Federal funding of abortion could increase beyond current law.
  • Health Czar could forcibly enroll individuals in government plan.
  • Allows ACORN and Planned Parenthood to assist in forced enrollment.
  • Lacks adequate citizenship and legal status verification standards.
  • Promotes 13 new and different tax increases totaling more than $700 billion.
  • Retains “death panels” for senior citizens, has no ban on assisted suicide or rationing.
  • Facilitates “spousal” advantages for domestic partners.
  • Taxes individuals 2.5 % on income if they don’t purchase the “acceptable” plan.
  • In 2011 additional tax on singles with $500,000 income and couples earning $1 million.
  • Allows Congress and other federal officials to retain current healthcare coverage.
  • Creates 111 new bureaucracies.
  • Imposes an excise tax on medical devices.
  • Cuts $170 billion from Medicare Advantage program.
