Republican Resolutions: Religion, Judiciary, & PP

In its 2015 Summer Meeting the National Republican Committee passed several great resolutions, such as one Against Judicial Overreach, another in Support of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and another to (1) Defund Planned Parenthood and (2) Prevent the Use of Illegally or Unethically Obtained Fetal Tissue in Research.
In its Judicial Overreach resolution, the Committee reminded us of these important facts. First, the United States is the first country in recorded history that was founded solely in the rule of Law, not on the rule of men. Second, the United States Constitution is an inspired document that protects God-given rights by restraining all three branches of the federal government, and third, any power not delegated to the federal government is reserved to the states, or the people.
Since no court is empowered to rewrite human history, rewrite law, fabricate “rights” out of thin air, or call entitlements “rights”, the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) and same-sex marriage decisions are obvious examples of the Supreme Court’s overreach of original intent of the Constitution.
Therefore, the Republican National Committee insists that the next Republican President appoint federal judges who faithfully and consistently apply constitutional original intent, and pledge to be servants of the law, not makers of law.
The Resolution supporting the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reminds us that the Constitution was written to prohibit the federal government from taking discriminatory action against anyone on the basis that the person believes or acts on a religious doctrine or moral conviction, including that: (1) marriage is or should be recognized as the union of one man and one woman, or (2) sexual relations are properly reserved to such a marriage.
Therefore, the Republican National Committee urges Congress to pass and the President to sign The First Amendment Defense Act to protect the rights of believers to equal treatment by the government of the United States of America.
The Resolution to Defund Planned Parenthood urges Congress to pass the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act (S. 582) that would enact a permanent, government-wide prohibition of taxpayer funded abortion, and make clear that unlawful behavior in violation of human dignity cannot be condoned.
If these resolutions from the Republican Party Platform reflect your values and beliefs, please carefully study the issues and vote for candidates who will uphold such standards at every opportunity. For Georgia Insight I’m Sue Ella Deadwyler, your Capitol correspondent
