A Pardon, A Directive, A N.J. School Law

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, September 1, 2017 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

After former Sheriff of Arizona, Joe Arpaio, was pardoned, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund said requiring U.S. officers to enforce immigration law puts them at “risk of being found guilty of significant legal violations.”  So, how do U.S. law enforcement officers violate the law by enforcing immigration law?

That was the issue in December 2011 when a U.S. District Judge ordered Sheriff Arpaio and his deputies to stop detaining Latino drivers suspected of being illegal aliens.  After continuing his strategy another 18 months, he was charged with civil contempt, found guilty almost six years later, on July 31st this year, and at age 85, Sheriff Arpaio faced six months in jail.  Sentencing that was scheduled for October 5th became a moot point August 25th, when President Trump pardoned him.

Also on August 25th, President Trump issued a directive to ban transgender individuals from military service.  Section 1 of his order explains how the previous president completely reversed military policy in June 2016 to allow transgender individuals to join and serve openly in the military, where they would receive medical treatment of their choice, including sex-reassignment surgery, hormone therapy, unlimited procedures, and medication at tax-payer expense. Anatomical ID Rejected

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, August 25, 2017 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

Friends, we have another bizarre problem!  While Liberty Counsel attorneys wrote letters to the Fort Benning Army Base asking the commanding officer to exempt soldiers from the new “transgender training” program, 60 kids from four to twelve years old were attending Rainbow Day Camp for transgender and “gender fluid” children, where they choose which pronoun suits them.  Some choose he or she or a combination of she/he and some change pronouns daily “to see what feels right,” and they want to be addressed according to that day’s preferred identity.

Gender specialists say they are seeing more gender clinics nationwide as children “come out” and claim transgender ID younger and younger.  The mother who founded Rainbow Day Camp in the San Francisco Bay Area three years ago said her 9-year-old son knew he was a girl when he was only two years old.

Transgender for children is surfacing in Georgia through the American Library Association’s radically new programs for children age three to teen-age.  They are advertised under the guise of simple puppet shows or plays with LGBT actors or cross-dressers who, simply, read children’s books to children. NEA and the Culture Skid

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, July 21, 2017 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

Just 16 days ago, 7,000 NEA members gathered in Boston for their four-day annual conference over July 4th.  That’s when the NEA president declared, “We can win.  We have the power and they know it.”  The resolutions they passed explain what they plan to win and how they’ll do it.

Although law-abiding Georgians oppose sanctuary policies, and the General Assembly passed H.B. 37 outlawing sanctuary in colleges and universities, the NEA passed NBI 94 to support sanctuary in cities and schools, and promised to help create more.

Resolution NBI 18 outlines NEA’s position on illegal aliens this way: (a) The NEA opposes deportation; (b) and asks school staff NOT to cooperate with Immigration and ICE agents or other officials seeking immigration status.  (c) NEA encourages school districts to adopt refusal-to-cooperate-with-ICE-agent policies.  Also, NEA will (d) issue a press statement that school staff should not be encouraged or pressured to cooperate with ICE.

NBI 86 authorizes censorship of exhibits NEA deems “offensive.”  First, is the NEA Ex-Gay Educators exhibit indicating that homosexuality is a choice.  The other two offenders – Creation Truth Outreach and Creation Science Educators – contradict evolution.  NBI 154 directs creationism exhibits to be judged by two standing rules to determine whether they are offensive. Education EO and Local Control

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, July 14, 2017 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

When President Trump issued his April 26th Executive Order “Enforcing Statutory Prohibitions on Federal Control of Education,” it became the policy of the executive branch through the Secretary of Education to examine whether regulations and guidance documents uphold local control for curriculum, instruction programs, textbooks, library books, and other instructional material.

That order empowered the Secretary of Education to rescind or revise regulations and guidance documents that are inconsistent with federal law and propose replacement regulations within 300 days after the executive order was issued in April 2017.

On the basis of that order, the U.S. Secretary of Education should investigate the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) “Welcoming Schools Program,” that’s dedicated to utilizing LGBTQ-inclusive programs in Pre-K – 12 schools throughout the country.  To accomplish that, the HRC provides instruction through HRC-trained and HRC-certified facilitators, one of whom trained some of Georgia’s school nurses earlier this year.
