May 26th URGENT ACTION ALERT

Issue No. 1: Urge Senators Chambliss and Isakson

to vote YES on S.J. Res. 26,

Restrict EPA Regulatory Power over Energy

The Urgency: Global warming regularly ranks last in polls, but the President of the U.S. (POTUS) is moving to by-pass Congress and use EPA to regulate the amount of energy Americans can use.  If he’s successful, EPA regulations will cause energy prices to “skyrocket,” as POTUS promised in his campaign, jobs will be lost and general economic havoc will result.

Facts: S.J. Res. 26 (a) prevents EPA from regulating greenhouse gases, (b) does not overturn science or the Clean Air Act and (c) will not prevent Congress from working on climate bills.

The EPA has already begun issuing climate regulations, which will raise electricity and gas.

S.J. Res 26 cannot be filibustered.  So, only 51 votes are necessary for its passage.

ACTION: Ask Senators Chambliss and Isakson to vote YES on S.J. Res. 26.
It will prevent the EPA from implementing cap-and-trade policies.

Issue No. 2: Urge Senate Armed Services Committee senators to vote NO on a repeal or change, moratorium or delayed implementation of the 1993 law on homosexuals in the military.

The Urgency: The National Defense Authorization bill is scheduled for a committee mark-up tomorrow, Thursday, May 27th.  There’s news of a “repeal deal,” as well as an attempt to add a repeal of the 1993 law that holds that LGBTs are ineligible for military service.

ACTION: Tell these senators to maintain current law on homosexuals in the military:
Evan Bayh, Indiana, 202 224-5623; Bill Nelson, Florida, 202 224-5274; James Webb, Virginia, 202 224-4024; Robert Byrd, West Virginia, 202 224-3954; Jack Reed, Rhode Island, 202 24-4642; Susan Collins (R), Maine, 202 224-2523.

April 21st ACTION ALERT

Microchip Bill

Prison inmates are the only people protected from
forced microchip implants in Georgia.

S.B. 235 is being blocked!

This is an urgent request. Time is almost gone for critically important bills, including S.B. 235, to pass the legislature.  The last two days of this session are Tuesday April 27th, and Thursday, April 29th.  That means the time to act is NOW.

Fact: Georgia law does not prohibit mandatory microchip implants in the general public.

Fact: microchips may be a tattoo on skin or a chip under the skin or a deep body implant.

Fact: microchips implanted surgically require surgical removal.

Fact: microchips have caused cancer and drifting in the bodies of laboratory animals.

Fact: if used to track disease, mandatory chips may be permanent, despite serious health risks.

Communication problems: Legislators adjourned until Tuesday, April 27th.  Capitol furlough days may be Thursday or Friday.  Capitol is closed Monday for a state holiday.  Therefore, calls to their offices may not reach legislators before the next legislative day, Tuesday, April 27th.

Solving the communication problem. On Thursday April 22nd, please write to each official listed below (to the best address we found) the following note and mail it by postal service.

“Please get S.B. 235 passed from Rules Committee onto the House floor for a vote.  S.B. 235 protects the general public from being forced to submit to a microchip implant.  Forced implants would violate our constitutional right to be secure in our persons.”

The Honorable Sonny Perdue, 391 W. Paces Ferry Rd., N.W., Atlanta, GA 30305-1099
The Honorable David Ralston, P.O. Box 1196 Blue Ridge, GA 30513
The Honorable Bill Hembree, 4159 Pool Road, Winston, GA 30187
The Honorable Casey Cagle, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502
The Honorable Jan Jones, 12850 Highway 9, Suite 600-356, Alpharetta, GA 30004
The Honorable Jerry Keen, P.O. Box 24290, St. Simons Island, GA 31522
The Honorable Donna Sheldon, P.O. Box 893, Dacula, GA 30019
The Honorable Jeff May, P.O. Box 883, Monroe, GA 30655
The Honorable Wendell Willard, 755 River Gate Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30350
The Honorable Jay Roberts, 767 Brushy Creek Road, Ocilla, GA 31774

  • Unless S.B. 235 passes, prison inmates would remain the only people who are protected from forced microchip implants in the State of Georgia.
  • Unless S.B. 235 passes, the governor could declare an emergency and mandate microchip implants for the entire population or a portion of the population, whichever he decides.
  • Unless S.B. 235 passes, microchips could be required as the most effective way to track infectious diseases in people who don’t need to go to the doctor for treatment.
  • Unless S.B. 235 passes, microchips could cause serious health hazards in humans, as they have in laboratory animals – cancer, tumors, infections and drifting into other body parts.

News Flash!

Action required on S.B. 385 early Wednesday morning.

Contact your senator and ask him to vote YES on S.B. 385, which is scheduled to be on the Senate floor tomorrow, Wednesday, March 24th. January 8th ALERT

Act, While Congress is in Recess for Two Weeks

The Government Health Care Bill Can Be Defeated

H.R. 3590 In A Nutshell: “Cash for Cloture” Deals Bought Critical Senate Votes

One version of the health care bill passed the House. Another version passed the Senate. Both are horrible. Both are unacceptable. Both would destroy the world’s best health care system. Both over-tax the population and put one-sixth of the U.S. economy under federal control.
Normally, both bills would go to a conference committee, where a compromise bill would be finalized. However, there’s nothing normal about this plan or its railroaded passage.

Pelosi and Reid are skipping the normal conference committee process and are working behind closed doors to make both bills into one image – their own. Representatives and senators outside the “in-crowd” don’t know what’s in the bill and unrest in Congress is escalating.

Republican representatives and senators, as well as some Democrats, have consistently opposed the entire concept of socialized health care and, now, unhappy over-burdened governors are complaining about “sweetheart deals” several hold-out senators got for agreeing to vote YES.

Now, more Democrats are squabbling over the Senate’s “cash for cloture” shenanigans and Republican Schwarzenegger has had enough, too. Although he’s a Republican, Governor Schwarzenegger supported the Democrat health care reform … until senators from Nebraska, Louisiana and other states got huge perks for their senator’s YES vote. Schwarzenegger said, among other things, “Health care reform … has become a trough of bribes, deals and loopholes…. You’ve heard of the bridge to nowhere…. This is health care to nowhere….”

This week, addressing the Downtown Kiwanis Club meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas Democrat Senator Blanche Lincoln expressed dismay that her state got the “short end of the [sweetheart deal] stick”. She said, “The people of Arkansas did not send me to Washington to be a horse trader. They sent me there to work hard to get good policy.” So, she wants the Nelson Medicaid provision dropped from any House/Senate compromise bill.

ACTION – 1. Attend local town hall meetings at every opportunity.
2. Call your (a) U.S. Congressman and (b) Senator Chambliss and Senator Isakson.
3. Call often during this recess – at least once in D.C. and at least once in their local office.
Call toll-free in D.C., 1 877 851-6437 and ask for their office.
Local libraries can give you their local office numbers. Please call NOW and OFTEN.

This can be stopped if Congress gets enough pressure from constituents.

URGENT URGENT ALERT — Dec. 19th

Health Care Vote Set

The “secret deal” Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) has worked on for weeks was just released Saturday morning, December 19th.

Weekend Action Absolutely Necessary!

The CLOTURE VOTE on the motion to end debate IS SET FOR
1 a.m. very late Sunday (12-20-09) night/very early Monday morning.
So, weekend calls are imperative!
If you wait until Monday morning when the sun rises, it will be too late!

Senator Nelson, reportedly, caved in and accepted watered down language on abortion-funding to give Reid the 60th vote needed to bring the health care fiasco closer to passage.

The bill continues to …
>Cost almost $1 trillion $871 billion, the CBO’s modest estimate that does not factor in the full ten years after it goes into effect,
>Cut Medicare by hundreds of billions of dollars,
>Raise and impose a vast array of new taxes on the American people,
>Allow for federal funding of abortion,
>Retain the CLASS Act (which the Democrat Chairman of the Budget Committee describes as nothing more than a “Ponzi Scheme”),
>Massively expand Medicaid, giving special treatment to a select few states so taxpayers in VA, AR, and OH will have to pay higher taxes to subsidize the Medicaid program of a favored few, such as NE, MA, and VT.

This cloture vote is the only vote that counts now. If they get 60 cloture votes, the bill will be a shoo-in to get the simple majority needed for final passage. There will be no conference committee. If this bill passes the Senate, Reid will take it to Nancy Pelosi and tell her to have the House vote on it now and do not allow any amendments. No one will have time to read it and no one will know what’s in it before they vote. If this goes as Reid and Pelosi plan, the health care bill will be on the president’s desk before the New Year.

Ask Senators Chambliss & Isakson
to VOTE NO on Health Care.
PLEASE CALL at least once this weekend

URGENT ACTION ALERT — Dec. 16th

STOP Health Care for Illegal Aliens!

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9

Senate health care bill (H.R. 3590) gives illegal aliens unrestricted access by:
The Public Option
Medicaid Subsidies
Health Insurance Exchange
Affordability Credits

Section 1411 lets illegal aliens enroll in Medicaid and Section 1311 requires the providing of information “in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to the needs of the population being served by the Exchange or Exchanges.” Section 1501 exempts illegal aliens from a mandate that fines U.S. citizens for not buying or having an “acceptable level” of insurance. Although illegal aliens may buy insurance, they won’t be fined if they don’t and can continue bankrupting hospitals by using emergency rooms as doctors’ offices.

ACTION – Call our senators twice (locally and in D.C.) Ask them to act on the following
amendments as indicated.

1. SUPPORT Sen. Jeff Sessions’ (R-AL) Amendment No. 3111 requiring a SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) system for in-person interviews and status-checks.

2. SUPPORT Sen. John Ensign’s (R-NV) Amendment No. 3016 to ensure that American citizens have the same choices for health care as illegal aliens get in the bill.

3. OPPOSE Amendment No. 2991 by four Democrat Senators – Menendez (NJ), Durbin (IL), Rockefeller (WV) and Bingaman (NM) repealing the long-standing 5-year waiting period for legal immigrants and residents before they can apply for health benefits.

4. FINALLY: OPPOSE H.R. 3590 every time it’s up for a vote. It cannot be fixed!

URGENT ACTION ALERT — Nov. 19th

Act NOW! Cloture Vote May be Saturday!

Senators Chambliss and Isakson must hear from Georgians with this message:
“You must VOTE NO on cloture!”
Because a YES vote on cloture moves the bill forward, a YES vote is a vote FOR government-run health care, including government-sanctioned euthanasia and single-payer, government-run health care.

On November 18, Senator Harry Reid attached the Senate’s 2,074-page health care bill to H.R. 3590 as an amendment.

H.R. 3590 must be defeated

It targets life at every stage – birth ’til death.
It sanctions euthanasia – government officials will make end-of-life decisions.
It is pro-abortion – abortion language is less strict than the House Stupak amendment.
Rationing of life-saving treatment will be implemented, especially for seniors.
It is anti-free enterprise – will squeeze out private medical insurance businesses.
It creates a monopoly – public option will be the only health coverage available.
Washington bureaucrats will make the most intimate health decisions for all Americans.

ACTION — Give this message to Senators Chambliss and Isakson:

Vote NO on cloture. Cloture is a motion to proceed with action on the bill.
