The Conservative Case for Trump

Radio Commentary, 90.7, 91.7 New Life FM, November 4, 2016 – By Sue Ella Deadwyler

During the last few months of her life, Phyllis Schlafly wrote The Conservative Case for Trump. Its scheduled release was September 6th, which, providentially, was the day after her death at age 92.

In December 2015 she described Donald Trump as “the last hope for America,” because, “He will fight for the issues that we really care about and are very hot at the present time, such as the immigration issue. I don’t see anyone else who’s eager to fight.”

Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump on-stage during his 2016 St. Louis rally. She reasoned that “he couldn’t be co-opted by the establishment – the big business types.” Commenting further she said, “Because he’s not doing what he’s told. They like people to do what they’re told.”

Donald Trump promised to appoint conservatives to the U.S. Supreme Court. His economic plan could spark economic revival like the 1980s Reagan boom. His defense of the First Amendment would guarantee freedom of speech and religion. His plans for defense and foreign policy could cause terrorists to retreat world-wide.Some very powerful people are Trump supporters. On September 26th, he was endorsed by the 5,000-member official union of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. He was their first-ever endorsement of any candidate for any elected office.

Over 250,000 members of the National Police Union endorsed Trump on September 16th, which was the same day 14,500 members of Philadelphia’s Fraternal Order of Police endorsed him. He was endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council in May and the New England Police Benevolent Association last December.

Arizona’s famous Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said, “Right now my mission is to get Trump elected.” Concerned Women for America’s Penny Nance put it this way, “It became clearer to me, sooner than some other folks, that we can’t just stand by and allow Hillary Clinton to be our next president.” Tony Perkins, Family Research Council, simply, said, “I want him to be successful, because if he’s successful, America survives. That’s the bottom line.”

The presidential candidates couldn’t be more different. Donald Trump is pro-life; Hillary Clinton is for abortion up to the moment of birth. Donald Trump wants to strengthen our borders, Hillary Clinton would weaken them! Election Day is next Tuesday. You can vote only once, but you can pray without ceasing. So, pray and vote!
